Krool World Home - Privacy Policy

Krool World Home ("the Extension") is a free browser extension for Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Opera, and Safari, developed by Krool ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Extension and the website at krool.github.io/Home ("the Site").

Data We Collect

None. The Extension and the Site do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal or usage data. We have no servers that receive data from them.

Data the Extension Reads on Your Device

• Browsing history or top sites: to build your new tab page, the Extension reads your most-visited sites from the browser (Firefox's top sites list, or the last 90 days of browsing history in Chrome, Edge, and Opera). Safari does not give extensions this access, so there it shows a general set of links.
• Site icons: shown from the browser's own icon cache.

This is read on your device each time a new tab opens, used only to draw that page, and then discarded. It is never stored by the Extension, never sent anywhere, and never changed or deleted.

Data We Do Not Collect

• No analytics, tracking, or advertising identifiers.
• No account, name, email, location, or contacts.
• No page content from the sites you visit.

Network Requests

The Extension makes none. Its links, categories, icons, and font are all packaged inside it.

Access to the Site

The Extension runs one small script on krool.github.io/Home only. It sets a single marker on the page so the Site stops offering the Extension to people who already have it. It reads nothing from the page.

Local Storage

Your layout choices (hidden sites, sections, order, size, theme, whether to use history, and any links you add yourself) are saved in your browser on your device: in the Site's local storage, and in the Extension's own storage. The Site also remembers if you dismiss its install banner. None of this is sent anywhere, and removing the Extension or clearing site data deletes it.

Third-Party Services

The Site is a static page hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses no cookies, analytics, or third-party scripts, and its font is self-hosted. GitHub, as the host, may keep standard server logs; see GitHub's privacy statement. The Extension uses no third-party services.

Children's Privacy

The Extension and the Site collect no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data Deletion

There is no data held by us to delete. Removing the Extension removes it and its saved layout. Clearing site data for krool.github.io removes the Site's saved layout.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will be updated accordingly.
